Want to make your wedding more social? Check out Social Tables! {from WED the Magazine}

The new issue of WED this live!!  This edition includes a section on wedding planning tools. Read an excerpt below and read the full article in the new edition of WED.

Want to get your guests socializing before your wedding?  Or help them to keep in touch after?

Check out the new site —SocialTables.com.  It helps you to plan your seating chart and then “socialize” your tables by accessing social media information in the guest profiles so they can interact with each other.  Guests can post notes directly to the tables, view profiles of guests, connect to their Facebook and Twitter accounts, post photos and get to know table-mates better.

WED had a chance to speak with one of the founders, Dan Berger, about Social Tables.  Dan had been to quite a few weddings recently and found himself sitting at “the singles” table but spending a lot of time in the small talk zone.  He met his co-founder Matt Tendler who had some similar experiences and Social Tables was born!

Social Tables is brand new and evolving, with new features being added all the time.  Dan and Matt are open to feedback and listen to their users so try it out and be sure to let them know what you think!  It’s free (for now) so give it a go for your wedding!

WED interview with Michelle Rago about Google Weddings {from WED the Magazine}

The new issue of WED this live!!  This edition includes our interview with destination wedding planner extraordinaire Michelle Rago {with video}.  Read an excerpt below and read the full article with all the fabulous photos in the new edition of WED.

Google has organized some of its tools to help simplify wedding planning.  Many nearlyweds were already using Google docs to organize their wedding tasks, but Google has added value to the tools with tips and advice from industry experts and has collected useful wedding tools in one spot: www.google.com/weddings

If you were planning on using spreadsheets or Google docs to get organized anyway, this is a great place to start.  With templates already set-up, you can customize them to meet your needs and share with others involved in the wedding planning.

Renown destination wedding planner Michelle Rago, spokesperson for Google Weddings, spoke with WED about these great new tools and her tips for planning a well-organized wedding.  Founder and President of Michelle Rago Destinations, she is an industry leader in the design and planning of truly personalized weddings.  Michelle’s book, “Signature Weddings: Creating a Day Uniquely Your Own” is the seminal guide for couples planning their perfect wedding.

“Google wants you to use their tools and they were smart enough to organize them specifically on one site,” said Michelle.  “They help you manage the business of the wedding—your guest list, RSVP’s, tables—and you can customize them completely.”
