The Wedding Games are coming to an end and five finalists have been selected: Districts 1, 2, 7, 10 and 12.  They have submitted their final Inspiration Boards to the judges and the winner will be selected in the next couple days.  Take a peek at the finalists’ boards below and check out all the boards on The Wedding and Event Institute page on Pinterest.

Tossing Rice Butterflies

 

We just found this fun alternative to the usual bird seed, bubbles or butterflies — Rice Butterflies!!  Made completely of rice — rice paper, rice grain and rice glue — Rice Butterfiles are eco-friendly, won’t die before you can throw them (e.g. real butterflies) and a beautiful option for your recessional!  They float beautifully in the air when tossed.  We also love rose petals but these can be more difficult to sweep up if you have an indoor venue.  The Rice Butterflies come in white/natural, red, blue, green and yellow.  One note: these are currently produced in Slovenia but they do ship internationally.  They are looking for a US outlet so hopefully soon you’ll be able to save a bit on shipping.  For more information, visit the Rice Butterflies site.

Boogie Down! Studio 54 Inspired! {WED's Weekly Inspiration}

This week’s WED Weekly Inspiration is brought to via Elite Bridal Network’s recent networking event at The Loft at Congress.  We had a blast going retro at this Studio 54/Andy Warhol inspired event.

Studio 54 Inspired!

 

Elite Bridal Network’s recent event at The Loft at Congress transformed the venue into a retro Studio 54/Andy Warhol inspired funky disco, complete with Campbell Soup can cocktail table arrangements and a kitchy photo booth.  Although you may not want to go quite this “Disco” for your wedding, it’s can give you some great ideas for a welcome party. The flowers at the entrance provided a fun look with tropical inspiration.  Floral Design by Ines Naftali Floral Design


Sweet Treats provided a delicious cupcake tower with a funky white chocolate design on top.  Iconic stars that inspired Andy Warhol, such as Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, are featured in these tablescapes.  We love the rose and disco ball motif!  Planner: Twenty7Events  Floral Design: Touch of Paradise  Linens, Chargers, etc.: Atlas Party Rental



Uplighting throughout the draped room, and under the cocktail tables, added a fun club element.  Cafe Ala Carte and Donut Divas were on hand with an upscale version of coffee and donuts while Ken-Rose Catering provided an amazing buffet that included Chinese Take-out.  Potions In Motion provided the cocktails.  AA Musicians spun some disco while South Beach Photobooth Company created mini-canvases for each guest with a Warhol inspired work of art.
