Not a Big Surprise but . . .
Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 9:50AM The Wedding Report announced today that the item most purchased for a wedding is, the “Wedding Dress.” “Demand for the wedding dress hovers around 97%, meaning 97% of brides purchase a dress of some sort for their special day,” noted Shane McMurray, CEO of The Wedding Report.
Not a big surprise here but it was interesting when they noted that, “Looking at 5 years of wedding dress cost it’s easy to see that the average amount spent on a wedding dress has fluctuated between $900 and $1,500 with the most recent amount settling at just above $1,000. The table and chart below show the average amount spent on the wedding dress from 2005 to 2009. 2010 to 2015 forecasts and local market spending is available at: TheWeddingReport.com.”
